How to Deal with Customs Fees for International Orders

We are glad that you have chosen to shop with us and enjoy our products from around the world. However, we understand that you may be surprised or unhappy about the customs fees that you may have to pay when you receive your order.

Customs fees are taxes or duties that are imposed by the government of the country where your order is delivered. They are calculated based on the value, weight, and type of the goods, as well as the shipping method and destination. Customs fees are not included in the price of our products or the shipping cost that you pay at checkout.

We have no control over the customs fees that are charged by your country, and we cannot predict or estimate them in advance. They may vary depending on the customs regulations and policies of each country, which may change from time to time. Customs fees are the responsibility of the customer, and we do not issue refunds or credits for them.

We have tried to make this as clear as possible for our customers in two ways:

  • We have a Customs Disclaimer in our FAQ section, which states: “Please note that it is your responsibility to understand the customs laws of your country, and which foods may not be allowed in. Customs duties may be payable and are the customer’s responsibility. We do not issue refunds when products/packages are refused due to customs decisions.”
  • We have a message at the bottom of our Checkout page, which states: “By pressing Place Order you are agreeing to (as the customer) be liable for any Customs fees, package rejections or similar occurrences that result from this purchase.”

Please note that this charge would have occurred no matter who sent you this box - us, a different company, friends/family, etc. This is a customs fee charged by the country itself and does not benefit us in any way.
